Chauras

Chauras is a crèches-cum-learning center for children of laborers (migrant) working and residing at construction sites. The center operates from 9 am to 5:30 pm for 5 days, providing education, healthy meals and a place of safety for children in the age bracket of 3 months to 15 years. During the reporting period, the center operated in a limited capacity due to social distancing and maximum capacity restrictions. These were put in place to have limitations on work at construction sites, as a result, a significant number of laborers returned to their hometowns during the lockdown. Post lockdown, Chauras regained its operations, observing the safety guidelines issued by the Health Ministry of India to prevent spread of Covid-19. We are also engaging with our partners to provide health check-ups and vaccinations at periodic intervals.
