Chauras

Chauras is a learning centre cum crèche for children of labourers (often migrants) working at construction site, brick kilns or Mineral Grinding units. Chauras operates from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm through the weekdays and provides education, nutritious meals and regular health chek-ups/vaccinations. The age group spans from the youngest being 6 months old to an adolescent of 12 years of age.

We presently have 10 learning-cum-créche facility across 3 different states – Rajasthan, Gujarat and Delhi/NCR. The sites are carefully selected keeping in mind the scope for long term intervention, following a holistic approach (nutrition, health, learning, and community strengthening, in a caring and protecting environment). The programme offers children an opportunity for improved health, an introduction to the joys of learning, and safe exposure to the outside world.
